Roger J. Medel, M.D., is Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder and Director of MEDNAX, Inc. (NYSE: MD), a national medical group that comprises the nation's leading provider of neonatal, maternal-fetal and pediatric physician subspecialty services as well as anesthesia services. Dr. Medel is a member of the Board of Directors of Simply Healthcare Plans, Inc. and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami and participates as a member of several medical and professional organizations. Dr. Medel formerly served on the Board of Directors of MBF Healthcare Acquisition Corp. (AMEX: MBH.U), CarePlus Health Plans, Inc., Sechrist Industries Inc. and ARC Broward Inc. Carlos A. Saladrigas
Carlos A. Saladrigas is a member of the board of directors of Progress Energy (NYSE:PGN), a Raleigh-based, Fortune 250 diversified energy holding company and of Advance Auto Parts, Inc., (NYSE:AAP) the second largest retailer of automotive parts in the United States. He also serves on the Hispanic Advisory Board to Frito-Lay and PepsiCo, Inc. Saladrigas co-founded The Vincam Group, Inc., a Professional Employer Organization (PEO). In 1996, Saladrigas took the company public and by 1998, Vincam had revenues exceeding $1 billion and was named the largest Hispanic-owned company in the U.S. by Hispanic Business. In March 1999, Vincam merged with Automatic Data Processing Inc. (NYSE:ADP). Previously, Saladrigas has held positions in the HMO industry and at PepsiCo where he held several positions, both domestically and overseas. Saladrigas started his career in public accounting with then Big 8 firms. Saladrigas has received the Alumnus of Distinction award from the University of Miami, was named Florida Entrepreneur of the Year in 1997, the Man of the Year award from the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and the Thomas Carvel Immigrant Entrepreneur Award from the National Immigration Forum. In 2002, the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust named Saladrigas Top Volunteer Advocate, citing his leadership on ethics and public accountability. A CPA and CMA, Saladrigas holds a master’s degree in business administration, with honors, from Harvard University. Phillip Frost, M.D.
Phillip Frost, M.D. presently serves as the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of OPKO Health, Inc. (NYSE: OPK), a specialty pharmaceutical company. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of TEVA Pharmaceuticals, Ltd. (NASDAQ: TEVA), Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services, Inc. (AMEX: LTS) and Prolor Biotech, Inc. (AMEX: PBTH) and also serves as a Director of Castle Brands, Inc. (AMEX: ROX). Previously, he served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of IVAX Corporation (AMEX: IVX) until its sale to TEVA for $8.5 billion and Director of Continucare Corp. (NYSE: CNU) prior to its sale to Metropolitan Health Networks Inc. (AMEX: MDF). Dr. Frost also served on the Board of Directors of IVAX Diagnostic (AMEX: IVD) (Chairman), the American Stock Exchange (NYSE: NYX) (Co-Vice Chairman) and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC). Dr. Frost serves on the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution, is a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami and a Governor of Tel Aviv University, is Chairman of Temple Emanu El, and is a Trustee of each of the Scripps Research Institutes, the Miami Jewish Home for the Aged and the Mount Sinai Medical Center. |
